GENERAL COMMITTEE DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

This website has been created by your General Committee of Adjustment to provide a secure location where you may research relevant Arbitration cases, and access relevant information that will assist you in your role as a Local Chairperson.

You can search the text of the cases, using words and phrases relevant to your research.

Additionally, each arbitration case has defined properties which can be used to narrow searches, saving time, helping to create efficient searches and research techniques.

Your searches can be saved, you can make notations on each case for future reference, and saving searches provides you with the ability to stop your research temporarily and resume where you left off upon your return.

Canadian Railway Office of Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (CROA&DR) cases are listed as CROA cases.

ADHOC cases are those arbitration cases within the Canadian Railroad industry resolving disputes commonly involving collective agreement violations, discipline, dismissals, and material changes. These are often cases between parties to CROA, however for a variety of reasons those cases are presented outside of CROA and listed as ADHOC. Not every ADHOC case is contained on this website, however we strive to obtain as many as possible and they are all categorized by the defined properties. Cases are often referred to at CROA.

SHOPCRAFT cases involve the Unions representing shop workers within the Canadian Railway industry, and these cases are not part of CROA. There is a wide variety of cases and many are relevant cases involving discipline and discharge, and cases are often referred to at CROA.
